The 10 Must Do’s in Cabo

Los Cabos truly has something for each type of visitor. From beaches to activities, shopping to relaxation, here’s a checklist of “musts” so you can enjoy all that Los Cabos has to offer.

Whether you’re seeking a secluded spot for a romantic escapade or a snorkeling piece of shoreline that’s also great for the kids, Los Cabos and its surroundings offer a multitude of beautiful beaches. Those low-key roads veering off onto the sea often hide a bonanza of prime waterfront.

You’d be wise to take your camera, pencil or even pastels every time you leave your hotel room, as Los Cabos’ natural beauty and man-made élan provide ample options for a lifetime of memories.Whether it’s the orange traces in the sky as the sun goes down or fishermen coming back from a day at sea, Baja’s beauty is meant to be captured in some way or another.

Indulge in a day’s worth of luxurious spa pampering, whip out your sunglasses and stroll about like the Hollywood stars. Don’t be too surprised if you spot a famous singer or actor (or even some paparazzi) “hiding out” beside you, enjoying the warm days and lively nights of Los Cabos.

Even decades after the likes of John Wayne headed here for a little R and R, the glitterati still love this spot of sassy sophistication.

From December to March, Baja California Sur welcomes a flurry of whales seeking warm waters in which to give birth. Visitors may arrange For a tour that takes them just inches away from these gentle mammals, or even spot them from beaches or a strategically built bar overlooking the ocean. You may also spot seals sunning themselves on the rocks around El Arco and loudly complaining about the presence of kayakers nearby.

Don’t neglect Los Cabos’ earthly treasures just because there’s so much to discover at sea. A drive around Baja is an adventure in itself. Having your own wheels will give you access to miles of regal cacti, a forgotten fish taco stand with ice-cold beer and other unexpected surprises.

To the East Cape, that is. This relatively undeveloped area is a favorite spot for surfers looking to get away from the crowds and those who love to fish. With more rustic surroundings and camping sites than its more sophisticated neighbor, the East Cape is a dream come true for nature types, including divers who want to reach the Cabo Pulmo natural reef system.

Even if you don’t consider yourself the fishing type, you must try your luck here. Many hotels and outfitters offer fishing packages and assorted options for fun days at sea. If you’d rather run with the big boys, sign up for one of several championship tournaments.

As one of the world’s most famous golf destinations, Los Cabos glitters with amazing greens.Championship courses have been carved out of an arid landscape that often looks out into the blue beyond. Everyone from Tom Fazio to Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf and Greg Norman has helped design and build what are now some of the area’s most appealing attractions.

Leave your diet behind and get ready to savor some of the best seafood and Mexican delicacies in the entire peninsula. From toe-tingling Pacific tuna to shrimp tacos with a spicy kick, Los Cabos’ range of culinary options offers something for everyone.

You’re in Cabo! Leave your cares behind and embrace the beauty and activity around you.

Curacao Capital Willemstad

Blessed with abundant sunshine and centuries-old heritage, Curacao mixes Caribbean zest with European style and blesses the island with multicultural diversity, as well as intriguing music, art, and cuisine.

Perhaps it’s the long sandy beaches or intimate rocky coves, or the “live and let live” atmosphere. Perhaps it’s the colorful coral reefs the circle the island, or the colorful colonial buildings in Willemstad. Perhaps it’s because Curacao truly feels “undiscovered”. Whatever it is about Curacao that attracts you, this Caribbean island is a vacation paradise for just about everyone.

Along with Aruba and Bonaire, Curacao is one of the so-called “ABC Islands,” all part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and all located just off Venezuela. The alluring capital city of Willemstad is one of the Caribbean’s few UNESCO World Heritage sites. Vibrant and cosmopolitan, it has become famous for its pastel-hued buildings, as well as classic architecture straight our of Amsterdam – including windmills!

Boutique clothing and jewelry shops, famous designer goods, electronics, souvenir shops, and specially foods can be found in Willemstad, as well as Curacao liqueur and imported Dutch items like chocolates and Gouda cheese. The cuisine scene reflects the island’s diverse heritage, with Caribbean, African, Dutch, Spanish, French, American, and other flavors – many backed by ocean views! After dark, there are Latin dance parties, casinos, bars, and live music, not to mention the largest and longest-enduring Carnival spectacle in the Caribbean, beginning in early January.

Sun-lovers prize Curacao for its secluded beaches and coves, and divers have discovered the island has some of the best scuba and snorkeling in the world. Strong, steady trade winds make conditions perfect for windsurfing, while catamaran sailing, kayaking, water-skiing, and jet-skiing are also popular.

Trinidad & Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago

If you want to be at the center of the action – or if you want to get away from it all – there’s a place for you in the lovely sister islands of Trinidad and Tobago!

Trinidad and Tobago are twin islands with a split personality; one puts you in the heart of non-stop action and partying, the other places you right at the edge of the natural world.

A hub of multiculturalism created by Africans, East Indians, Europeans, and Chinese. Trinidad’s perpetually festive atmosphere has given birth to the calypso, the steel drum and the limbo, and it hosts one of the world’s most scintillating Carnival celebrations. Port of Spain, the bustling capital city, is packed with nightclubs, pubs, and bars, and is a shoppers’ paradise for jewelry, perfumes, china and crystal, handicrafts, local artworks, and books. The island is lined with spectacular beaches – many of them blissfully secluded – that are made for surfing, swimming, body-boarding, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing and sailing.

Smaller, quieter, and prettier, Tobago is largely undeveloped. You’ll find laid-back villages and uncrowded beaches, and in the center of is all, the oldest rainforest in the western hemisphere. Sailing and sport fishing are the choice diversions at the shore, lined by reefs that are prized by scuba divers. Scarborough, the island’s little capital city, is worth a visit for its lively produce market, Georgian architecture and fabulous views of the harbor from the restored 18th-century Fort King George at the top of the hill.

Whether you are seeking adventure, culture, or nightlife, Trinidad and Tobago is waiting to amaze you!

Iberostar Cozumel

Cozumel is a beautiful island in the Mexican Caribbean, only 12 miles off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. One of the most popular destinations in the world for snorkeling and scuba diving, a Cozumel vacation package is also a delightful way to enjoy the warmth and flavor of Mexico in a safe, intimate environment. Many Cozumel resorts offer world-class amenities and all offer exceptional opportunities to explore undersea wonders. The island is only 28 miles long and 10 miles wide so getting around is easy and fun, and the lively port town of San Miguel offers visitors great alternatives for dining, “clubbing” and shopping. Despite growth and modernization over the years, Cozumel has managed to retain much of the local charm and warmth of its Mayan heritage. A Cozumel vacation package is the perfect choice for divers, water sports enthusiasts and families looking for a more laid-back vacation experience.

Transfers from the Cancun International Airport
If you opt to fly into Cancun, roundtrip transfers are provided from the Cancun airport to the pier in Playa del Carmen where you will ferry over to San Miguel on Cozumel Island. The transfer from the Cancun airport to the ferry pier usually takes from 45 minutes to an hour. The 35 min. ferry ride is aboard a large, multi-level passenger ferry with comfortable air-conditioned inside seating, or outside upper deck seating is available if preferred. The ferry operates frequent regularly scheduled departures throughout the day. On the Cozumel side, you will be met at the pier and transferred to your hotel. Total in-transit time varies, depending on traffic from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, your arrival time in Playa del Carmen and the ferry schedule.
